Our Curriculum
Bottesford Junior School Curriculum Intent
At Bottesford Junior School, our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, nurture ambition and equip every child with the knowledge, skills and values they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. We provide a broad, balanced and inclusive education that enables pupils to develop as confident, independent learners who are prepared for their next stage of education and life beyond school.
Our curriculum is underpinned by the core values of community, respect, environment, enthusiasm and kindness. Through carefully sequenced and engaging learning experiences, pupils gain a deep understanding of the world around them—past and present—while developing respect for diversity, different perspectives and the contributions of others. We aim to foster global citizens who are reflective, open-minded and equipped to make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.
We place equal importance on academic excellence and personal development. Pupils are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, solve problems and communicate effectively across all subjects. Through a rich and varied curriculum, they build resilience, creativity and confidence, embracing challenge and understanding that mistakes are part of the learning journey.
Our intent is for all pupils to leave Bottesford as well-rounded individuals who are curious about the world, respectful of others, and motivated to succeed. They will have developed a strong sense of identity, an appreciation for lifelong learning and the skills and knowledge needed to lead healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.
